Marilou van Golstein Brouwers, Impact Investment Advisor, Former Chair of the Board of Directors (until 2019) of Triodos Investment Management (Triodos Bank), the Netherlands
Marilou van Golstein Brouwers is the former Chair (until April 2019) of the Management Board of Triodos Investment Management BV, a subsidiary of Triodos Bank where she worked from 1990-April 2020. Marilou was involved in founding Triodos Investment Management, an impact asset management company specialized in developing and managing impact investment funds investing in Emerging Markets, Energy & Climate, Sustainable Food &Agriculture and SRI with EUR 4.2 billion total assets per December 31st 2018.
Marilou has served on the Board of Directors of banks in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Russia, Afghanistan and Pakistan. She was a member of the Group of Advisors for the United Nations Year of Microcredit in 2004/2005, of the Executive Committee of CCAP (2003-2008), member of the Board of Trustees of Women’s World Banking (2003-2012), Chair of SBI Ltd (2011-2013), Chair of the Steering Committee of the PRI/Principles for Investors in Inclusive Finance (2011-2013), Treasurer of the Max Havelaar Foundation (2008-2015), Chair of the Advisory Board of Women in Financial Services (WIFS) in the Netherlands (2011-2016), member of the Advisory Committee of the Mastercard Foundation’ Fund for Rural Prosperity (2014-2017) and member of the Advisory Council on International Affairs Committee for Development Cooperation (AIV/COS) in the Netherlands (2016-2018)
Since April 2020 Marilou has her own company, Liberating Money and she is active in different non-executive board and advisory roles. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the GIIN, Chair of the Supervisory Board of B Lab Europe, Chair of Microfinance institution Qredits in the Netherlands, member of the Advisory Board Responsible Investments of PGGM, Chair of the Supervisory Board of BRAC International Foundation, Chair of the Supervisory Board of BRAC International Holdings BV, Chair of Triodos Foundation, member of the Supervisory Board of InvestNL and one of We-Fi’s Leadership Champions housed in the World Bank.
