Angela Bekkers
Senior Communications Officer
Angela Bekkers is We-Fi’s Communications Lead and focuses on communications and advocacy, including work with the Leadership Champions. Previously, Angela led external communications for the Climate Investment Funds (CIF), one of the largest climate investment facilities in the world, housed at the World Bank Group. Before that, she was the communications and external relations lead for infoDev, a global innovation and entrepreneurship trust fund in the World Bank, profiling successful growth entrepreneurs and the acceleration and mentorship programs supporting them. Prior to moving to Washington DC, Angela worked in the World Bank’s Brussels office on media and donor relations. In an earlier stage of her career, Angela reported on international economics and finance for a national newspaper in her native Netherlands. She has a degree in Business Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a degree in Sustainable Development & Ecology from Free University Brussels.
